We gave two AI ad tools our homepage. One replied with ads for a portrait studio

Promer read our page, spent 15 credits and returned three ads selling illustration services. AdsCreator never got past sign-in. Here's the full run.

One public URL can start two ad-creative workflows, but the evidence here still requires a human review before either route is treated as usable.

ToolFlock is a directory where people discover software tools. Our homepage says so, under the title Independent tool discovery, on a paper-colored background with a purple accent.

On August 9 we pasted that homepage into two AI ad generators — Promer AI and AdsCreator.com — with the same written instruction: create a small set of English ad concepts for this public product page; preserve the real product name, visible offer, brand colors, and tone; do not invent a discount, customer number, award, or performance claim.

Promer returned three ads. They sell custom illustration services and professional portrait photography. One invites the reader to BOOK NOW; another offers a No-Obligation Portfolio Review. All three carry a stock-style portrait of a person we can't identify. The word "ToolFlock" appears nowhere. AdsCreator returned nothing at all, for a simpler reason we'll get to.

Promer read the page correctly — that part works

The anonymous app asked for no account and no card. It opened with a visible balance of 40 credits. When we submitted the URL, it came back with a parsed review state that was factually right: name ToolFlock, the real page description, price $0 USD, one primary image and 15 of 50 candidate images.

One detail turned out to matter. Promer has two generation routes. The Ad Concept route — the one that pre-fills product highlights, ideal customer, and pain points — has no free-text field, so our instruction couldn't go in. We used the Ad Prompt route instead, which does take free text, at 15 credits per generate, with the controls showing Promer Fast, 9:16, 3 variants, and No Brand Kit.

So the instruction was tested on the route that accepts instructions. Keep that in mind when weighing what happened next.

Three ads, and what each one actually says

The loading spinner appeared at 8.3 seconds. At 46 seconds the page showed three static images, 334×600 as rendered, with Download and Push buttons alongside. We didn't press either — export and watermark behavior remain untested.

Then we read the ads. All three fail the instruction in the same direction:

  • PROFESSIONAL PORTRAITS FOR YOUR BRAND
  • CUSTOM ILLUSTRATION SERVICES and EXPERT ILLUSTRATION SERVICES
  • Custom, authentic illustrations for your business
  • ELEVATE YOUR BRAND'S STORY.
  • CTAs: LEARN MORE, BOOK NOW, BOOK A CONSULTATION
  • One offers a No-Obligation Portfolio Review — an offer that exists nowhere on our page

The name is gone, the category is wrong, the offers are invented. The one thing arguably carried over is a purple accent — our brand color is #6356a6 — but Promer showed no extraction receipt, so we can't tell a match from a coincidence.

One run, one page, no Brand Kit. That's the limit of what this proves. It doesn't tell you what a paid plan returns, whether Brand Kit fixes the drift, or whether a second run repeats it. What it does tell you: the anonymous first pass cannot be trusted with your brand, and the ads look polished enough that a tired person could miss that.

AdsCreator never saw our URL

AdsCreator's pitch is the more ambitious one. Its homepage leads with "Turn any website into scroll-stopping ads" and describes scanning your URL for colors, type, tone, and imagery, then generating square, landscape, and story formats. The offer on the page: "7-day free trial — 10 ads on us."

We prepared the identical fixture and opened its Quick Ad route. In 2,543 milliseconds it redirected to a sign-in page. The registration screen offers Google and email signup; we created no account, so the URL was never submitted. Everything AdsCreator says about brand extraction stays unverified — not disproven, just untested. There's no output to put next to Promer's.

Two things to know before you decide whether the signup is worth it. The terms we read say the trial requires a valid payment method; Promer's free tier asked for nothing and showed us the credit balance up front. And watch the spelling: adscreator.ai is a different product surface with different pricing language. Everything here is about adscreator.com only.

What you'd actually do with this

The comparison nobody can give you yet is quality head-to-head, because only one tool produced anything. Promer's Capterra entry is provider-supplied with zero reviews, and the third-party AdsCreator coverage we found is a founder's own newsletter plus an affiliate directory. If someone publishes a "Promer vs AdsCreator" verdict today, ask to see their receipts.

What the run does settle, for one founder with a campaign this week:

  • Want to see output tonight without a signup? Promer's door is open, and 40 free credits is about two generates at the 15-credit rate. Walk in expecting to read every word and throw the first set away.
  • Want the brand-extraction workflow? That's AdsCreator's stated design. The price of finding out whether it works is an account plus a payment method on file. Recheck the trial terms the day you sign up; they're snapshots, not promises.
  • Either way, the step that protects you is a slow read of the final creative before it goes anywhere. In our run that read took five minutes and caught a wrong business, three invented offers, and a stranger's face.

The five-minute read

The fastest part of this workflow was never the point of failure. 46 seconds, 15 credits, three images — that all worked. The failure was in the 46 seconds' worth of words, and it took a human to find it.

That's where we'd leave it for your campaign week: use whichever door your constraints allow, and treat the review pass as a fixed line item, not a courtesy. The tools will get the pixels right long before they get your facts right.

Boundary note: evidence retrieved August 9, 2026. Promer results come from a single anonymous session, Ad Prompt route, no Brand Kit; AdsCreator was never submitted the test URL. No ad was downloaded, published, or run on any platform. Neither tool's paid plans were tested.
