Features

  • Grammar and spelling checks

Flags spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes while typing in most apps and websites.

  • Rewrites and tone

Suggests clearer full-sentence rewrites and adjusts tone to sound more formal or friendly.

  • Plagiarism checker

Compares a text with web pages and academic papers and shows passages that need a citation.

  • AI detector

Estimates how much of a piece of text looks AI-generated, to check work before it is handed in.

  • Works everywhere

Runs as a browser extension, desktop app for Windows and Mac, and a keyboard for phones.

What users say

Pros

  • Catches the missing comma, dropped word or misheard word that slips past a normal re-read.
  • Acts as a reliable safety net for English spelling, phrasing, and grammar.
  • Trims wordy drafts into shorter, to-the-point business writing.

Cons

  • Style rewrites flatten a personal voice into bland, PR-style prose.
  • Free trials automatically roll into an annual charge of around $144 that frequently appears unnoticed on bank statements.
  • Recent updates broke the editor: double-click glitches, fixes landing in the wrong spot, and one-by-one review.
  • The AI checker generates false positives on essays and emails written entirely from scratch.
